Prerequisites
You need a Reddit account that can create apps.
- A Reddit account with no app-creation restrictions.
- An installed app registration. A web app or script app is issued a secret and should use Application Only OAuth instead.
Create OAuth application
Register an installed app in Reddit’s app preferences.

Open the apps page
Sign in to Reddit, click your profile icon, then click Settings.
- On the Account tab, under Apps, click OAuth app settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click are you a developer? create an app… to open the form.

Fill out app details
Provide the app metadata.
- app name:
StackOne Installed App - Select the installed app radio button.
- redirect uri:
http://localhost - Click create app.

Copy the Client ID
After creation the new app card shows the credential you need. This method never sends a user through the redirect URI, so its value does not matter, and an application-only token carries no user permissions, so there is no permission screen to configure.
- Copy the string under the app name (just below “installed app”) into your Connector Profile as the Client ID.
- An installed app is issued no secret, so there is nothing else to copy from this page.

Create a Connector Profile
Enable the connector and create a Connector Profile in your project. See Setup Connector Profile.

Link an Account
Once the Connector Profile is created, continue to link an account.
