Choosing Your Environment

Checkr provides separate environments and API keys for production and staging. Choose the appropriate environment based on your use case.

Select the Right Environment

When connecting Checkr to StackOne, you’ll be asked to select an environment.

  • Production — Use for real background checks with actual candidate data. Requires account approval from Checkr.
  • Staging — Use for development and testing with fake data. Free to use, no approval required.
  • Staging environment uses a separate base URL (api.checkr-staging.com)
  • You can switch environments later by creating a new connection

Creating the StackOne Connector Profile

To create the Connector Profile in StackOne for Checkr:

Navigate to Connector Profiles

Login to StackOne and navigate to Connector Profiles

Create New Connector Profile

  • Click + Connector Profile
  • Search for and select Checkr
  • Select Type as API Key
  • (Optional) Select Actions to be enabled for this Connector Profile
  • Click Create profile
Congratulations! The new Connector Profile will now show up in your project ready to be used. You can now continue to Link Accounts for Checkr.
