You will need access to a Wistia account with OAuth application creation privileges. OAuth2 is not enabled by default for all accounts.

Enable OAuth2 Access

OAuth2 must be enabled for your Wistia account before you can create OAuth applications.

Check for OAuth Applications Tab

Verify if OAuth2 is enabled for your account.

  • Sign in to your Wistia account
  • Navigate to Account > Settings
  • Look for the OAuth Applications tab in the sidebar

Request OAuth2 Access (if tab is missing)

If the OAuth Applications tab is not visible, you need to request access.

  • Go to Wistia Support
  • Click the Support button
  • Start a chat with the support team
  • Select Technical Issue (or Something Else) if prompted
  • Provide your account name and request that OAuth2 be enabled for API integration
  • Wait for confirmation that OAuth2 has been enabled for your account
  • Note: This process may take 1-2 business days

Create a Wistia OAuth Application

Once OAuth2 is enabled, register an OAuth application in Wistia.

Access OAuth Applications

Navigate to the OAuth Applications settings in your Wistia account.

  • Sign in to your Wistia account
  • Navigate to Account > Settings
  • Select the OAuth Applications tab in the sidebar
  • Click New Application

Configure Application Details

Complete the OAuth application registration form.

  • Enter an Application Name (e.g., “StackOne Integration”)
  • Add an optional Description for the application
  • Enter the Redirect URI - https://api.stackone.com/connect/oauth2/wistia/callback
  • Select the required Permissions for your integration
  • Click Save to complete registration

Copy Credentials

Access your credentials by clicking your app name or the Edit button.

  • Copy the Client ID and store it securely
  • Copy the Client Secret and store it securely
  • Note: Keep the Client Secret confidential - use it only for backend authentication

Creating the StackOne Connector Profile

To create the Connector Profile in StackOne for Wistia:

Navigate to Connector Profiles

Login to StackOne and navigate to Connector Profiles

Create New Connector Profile

  • Click + Connector Profile
  • Search for and select Wistia
  • Select Type as OAuth 2.0
  • Fill out the fields using details retrieved from your provider:
    • Client ID
    • Client Secret
  • (Optional) Select Actions to be enabled for this Connector Profile
  • Click Create profile
Congratulations! The new Connector Profile will now show up in your project ready to be used. You can now continue to Link Accounts for Wistia.
