A Smartsheet Business or Enterprise plan is required. You must register for Developer Tools access before creating an app.

Register for Developer Tools

Developer Tools is required to create OAuth applications in Smartsheet.

Register your account

Go to the Developer Tools Registration page.

  • Enter the email address of a Smartsheet user account to associate with your apps.
  • Read and accept the Smartsheet Developer Agreement, then click Register User Account.
  • If you are already registered, sign in to your Smartsheet account and navigate to Account > Developer Tools in the upper-right corner.
  • Note: Smartsheet will activate Developer Tools for your account after approval.

Create an OAuth application

Register a new app in Smartsheet Developer Tools to obtain OAuth credentials.

Open Developer Tools

Sign in to your Smartsheet account.

  • Click the Account icon at the bottom of the left sidebar.
  • Select Developer Tools.

Create new app

In the Manage Apps section, click Create New App and fill in the required fields.

  • App name: StackOne
  • App description: StackOne integration
  • App URL: Your application URL or landing page
  • App contact/support: Your support email or URL
  • App redirect URL: https://api.stackone.com/connect/oauth2/smartsheet/callback
  • Optionally upload a logo and check Publish if you want the app publicly listed.

Save and copy credentials

Click Save to register the app. Smartsheet will display the App client ID and App secret.

  • Copy the Client ID and Client Secret and store them securely for use later.
  • You can look them up again in Developer Tools > Manage Apps at any time.

Creating the StackOne Connector Profile

To create the Connector Profile in StackOne for Smartsheet:

Navigate to Connector Profiles

Login to StackOne and navigate to Connector Profiles

Create New Connector Profile

  • Click + Connector Profile
  • Search for and select Smartsheet
  • Select Type as OAuth 2.0
  • Fill out the fields using details retrieved from your provider:
    • Client ID
    • Client Secret
  • (Optional) Select Actions to be enabled for this Connector Profile
  • Click Create profile
Congratulations! The new Connector Profile will now show up in your project ready to be used. You can now continue to Link Accounts for Smartsheet.
