How Shippo OAuth credentials are issued

Shippo does not offer self-service OAuth app registration — there is no screen in the Shippo dashboard to create an OAuth application. Instead, Shippo provisions a Client ID and Client Secret for your integration when you apply to become a Shippo partner. Request them first, then enter them in the StackOne Connector profile.

1

Apply to become a Shippo partner

Submit the application on the Become a Shippo Partner page and request OAuth credentials for your integration. For partnership questions you can also reach the Shippo partnerships team.

  • Provide your Company’s Name — it is shown to users during the OAuth flow.
  • Provide your Contact Email.
  • Provide a brief description of your use case.
  • Give Shippo this StackOne callback URL: https://api.stackone.com/connect/oauth2/shippo/callback
2

Get your Client ID and Client Secret

After Shippo approves your application, they send you a Client ID (your unique partner ID) and a Client Secret (your Shippo OAuth secret key, which is different from your Shippo API token).

  • Shippo OAuth grants full API access through its single * scope.
  • The access token does not expire, so no re-authentication is required once you connect.
3

Enter your credentials in StackOne

Enter the values Shippo provided in the StackOne Connector profile.

  • Paste the Client ID into the Client ID field in the StackOne Connector profile.
  • Paste the Client Secret into the Client Secret field in the StackOne Connector profile.
  • Store the Client Secret securely and never expose it in client-side code.

Creating the StackOne Connector Profile

To create the Connector Profile in StackOne for Shippo:
1

Open the connector

Log in to StackOne, open Connectors, and select Shippo.
2

Choose actions and events

  • Click Add Profile.
  • If the connector offers more than one authentication method, set the Auth Method filter to OAuth 2.0.
  • Select the actions, and any events, to enable for this Connector Profile.
  • Click Continue.
3

Set up authentication

  • Select Authentication Type as OAuth 2.0.
  • Fill out the fields using details retrieved from your provider:
    • Client ID
    • Client Secret
  • Click Create Profile.
Congratulations! The new Connector Profile now shows up on the connector page. If you created it as a project member rather than an admin, it starts disabled until a project admin enables it. You can now continue to Link Accounts for Shippo.
