Prerequisites
You need a Reddit account that can create apps.
- A Reddit account with no app-creation restrictions.
- A confidential app type, meaning a web app or a script app. An installed app is issued no secret and cannot use this method.
Create OAuth application
Register a confidential app in Reddit’s app preferences.

Open the apps page
Sign in to Reddit, click your profile icon, then click Settings.
- On the Account tab, under Apps, click OAuth app settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click are you a developer? create an app… to open the form.

Fill out app details
Provide the app metadata.
- app name:
StackOne App Only - Select the web app radio button.
- redirect uri:
http://localhost - Click create app.

Copy credentials
After creation the new app card shows the credentials you need. This method never sends a user through the redirect URI, so its value does not matter, and an application-only token carries no user permissions, so there is no permission screen to configure.
- Copy the string under the app name into your Connector Profile as the Client ID.
- Click edit next to the app, then copy the secret into your Connector Profile as the Client Secret.

Enable the connector and create a Connector Profile in your project. See Setup Connector Profile.

Once the Connector Profile is created, continue to link an account.
