Create a Help Scout OAuth app

Register an application in Help Scout to obtain OAuth 2.0 credentials for the Authorization Code flow.

Sign in to Help Scout

Sign in to your Help Scout account.

  • Click your profile avatar and select Your Profile.
  • In the left sidebar, click My Apps.

Create a new application

Click Create App and complete the form.

  • Application Name: StackOne Integration
  • Redirect URL: https://api.stackone.com/connect/oauth2/helpscout/callback
  • Click Create to save.

Copy your credentials

Your App ID (Client ID) and App Secret (Client Secret) are now displayed. Copy both values and store securely for use later.

Creating the StackOne Connector Profile

To create the Connector Profile in StackOne for Help Scout:

Navigate to Connector Profiles

Login to StackOne and navigate to Connector Profiles

Create New Connector Profile

  • Click + Connector Profile
  • Search for and select Help Scout
  • Select Type as OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code
  • Fill out the fields using details retrieved from your provider:
    • App ID (Client ID)
    • App Secret (Client Secret)
  • (Optional) Select Actions to be enabled for this Connector Profile
  • Click Create profile
Congratulations! The new Connector Profile will now show up in your project ready to be used. You can now continue to Link Accounts for Help Scout.
