Generate the API key with a Zinc company administrator account. Zinc binds each API key to one Zinc customer account, and every request StackOne makes acts on behalf of that customer.

Generating an API key

A Zinc Partner API key authenticates StackOne against your Zinc company account. You generate it from the Zinc integration in your company settings.

Sign in to Zinc

Sign in to the Zinc web app for the environment you are connecting:

  • Production — Zinc production sign-in
  • Staging — Zinc staging sign-in
  • Generate the key in the same environment that is selected on the StackOne Connector profile. A key from one environment does not work in the other.

Open Integrations in company settings

Click the Company settings gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar. On the Company page, click Integrations in the left menu.

Open the Zinc integration

In the integrations list, click the Zinc row to expand it.

Generate the API key

In the expanded Zinc panel, click Generate API Key.

  • Generating a new key does not revoke keys you generated before.

Copy the API key

In the API Key dialog, click Copy and paste the key into the API Key field in StackOne Hub. Store it securely for use later.

  • The key is shown only once. Zinc states “Copy your new API key now. You won’t see it again”.
  • Keep the key private. It grants access to your Zinc company account.

Native Webhook URL

The Native Webhook URL field in StackOne Hub is filled in by StackOne once the account is linked. You do not enter anything in it. It is the address Zinc sends background-check status updates to; pass it as resultsCallbackURL when starting a check to receive webhook events for that request.

Connect

  • Click Connect.
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup.
