You must have a Trello Power-Up to generate an API key. Visit https://trello.com/power-ups/admin to create one if you don’t have one yet.

Get your API key

Retrieve your API key from the Power-Ups admin portal.

Access the Power-Ups admin portal

Navigate to the Power-Ups admin portal.

  • Select your Power-Up from the list (or click Create new Power-Up if you don’t have one).
  • Click on the API Key tab.

Copy your API key

Click Generate a new API Key if you haven’t created one already, then copy the key.

  • Format: 32-character alphanumeric string
  • Example: 0a1b2c3d4e5f6g7h8i9j0k1l2m3n4o5p
  • Paste the API key into the API Key field below

Generate a token

Generate a long-lived token that grants access to your Trello account.

Click the Token hyperlink

On the same API Key tab, click the Token hyperlink next to your API key.

  • You will be redirected to the Trello authorization page

Authorize the application

Review the permissions and click Allow to generate your token.

  • The token will be displayed on the page immediately after clicking Allow

Copy the token

Copy the token displayed on the confirmation page.

  • Format: 64-character alphanumeric string
  • Example: 1a2b3c4d5e6f7g8h9i0j1k2l3m4n5o6p7q8r9s0t1u2v3w4x5y6z7a8b9c0d1e2f3g4h
  • Paste the token into the API Token field below
  • Keep it secret — this token grants full access to the Trello account and should never be shared publicly.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Key
  • API Token

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
