Generating an API token

Your API token authenticates requests to Teamwork.

Sign in to Teamwork

Sign in to your Teamwork account.

  • Click on your profile avatar in the bottom left corner.
  • Select Edit my details from the menu.

Generate the API token

In the Edit Profile dialog:

  • Click on the API & Mobile tab.
  • Click Get API Token to generate a new token, or Show your Token if one already exists.
  • Copy the token and store it securely for use later.

Find your site name

Your site name is the subdomain in your Teamwork URL.

  • Check your browser address bar when signed in to Teamwork.
  • Format: {sitename}.teamwork.com or {sitename}.eu.teamwork.com (EU accounts)
  • Example: if your URL is https://acme.teamwork.com, your site name is acme
  • Example: if your URL is https://acme.eu.teamwork.com, your site name is acme.eu

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Token
  • Site Name

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
