Create Personal Access Token

Generate a Personal Access Token in your Tableau account.

Access My Account Settings

Log in to your Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server account. Click your profile icon in the top right, then click My Account Settings.

Create Token

Scroll to Personal Access Tokens, enter a token name (e.g., “StackOne Integration”), then click Create Token. Immediately copy and save both the Token Name and Token Secret.

Copy Token Secret

Store these values securely. The Token Secret is only displayed once and cannot be retrieved later.

Find Server URL and Content URL

Locate your Tableau instance URL and site identifier.

Server URL

The URL of your Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud instance. For Tableau Cloud, use your instance URL (e.g., https://10ay.online.tableau.com). For Tableau Server, use your server address (e.g., https://tableau.yourcompany.com).

Content URL (Optional)

The site content URL (REQUIRED for Tableau Cloud, optional for Tableau Server). For default site on Server, leave empty. Check your Tableau invitation email for the site URL, or ask your Tableau administrator. If already signed in, find the value after /site/ in your browser URL (e.g., MarketingSite from https://10ay.online.tableau.com/#/site/MarketingSite/...).

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • Personal Access Token Name
  • Personal Access Token Secret
  • Server URL
  • Content URL (Optional)

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
