Generating a SourceWhale API key requires Admin permissions in your SourceWhale instance. If you do not see the Admin panel, ask an administrator to generate the key for you.

Generate a SourceWhale API key

SourceWhale authenticates API access with a single API key generated from the Admin panel. Create the key in SourceWhale, then paste it into StackOne Hub.

1

Open the Admin panel

Sign in to your SourceWhale account, then click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner and select Admin.

  • You must have Admin permissions in SourceWhale to access this panel and generate a key.
2

Open Settings

In the Admin panel, open Settings.

3

Generate the API key

Click Generate API Key. SourceWhale generates a new key for your instance.

  • Copy the key and store it somewhere safe as soon as it is shown.
4

Paste the key into StackOne

Paste the copied value into the API Key field in StackOne Hub to connect your account.

  • API Key — the key you generated in SourceWhale under Admin → Settings → Generate API Key. It is sent on every request in the api-key header.
