Generate an API access token

An API access token authenticates requests to the Smartsheet API.

Sign in to Smartsheet

Sign in to your Smartsheet account.

  • Select your Account icon in the lower-left corner, then select Personal Settings.

Generate a new token

Navigate to the API Access tab and click Generate new access token.

  • Enter a name for your token (e.g., StackOne Integration).
  • Click OK to generate the token.
  • Copy the token value immediately and store it securely for use later.
  • This token is shown only once — save it before closing the dialog.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Access Token

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
