API tokens grant full access to your Shortcut workspace data. Keep them secure and never share them publicly. Tokens are generated as read-only by default — uncheck the read-only option if StackOne needs to create, update, or delete data.

Generate an API token

Create a new API token from your Shortcut account settings. Admin access is not required.

1

Sign in to Shortcut

Sign in to your Shortcut account.

  • At the bottom of the left sidebar, click Settings.
  • Under My Account, click API Tokens.
2

Create new token

Enter a descriptive name in the Token Name field (e.g., “StackOne Integration”), set the access level, then click Generate Token.

  • The Read-only (cannot create, update, or delete data) checkbox is checked by default — uncheck it if you need StackOne to perform write actions.
  • Copy the token immediately and store it securely — it is only shown once.
