To generate an API key, you must have Subscription Administration privileges on the Rally account.

Create an API Key in Rally

Log in to your Rally account to generate an API key. Follow the steps below to create and copy your key.

Create and Copy Your API Key

After logging in to Rally, follow these steps to generate your API key.

  • Click your account avatar in the top-right corner and select My Settings
  • Click on Access, then select API Key to manage your API keys
  • Click the Create button
  • Enter a Display Name (e.g., StackOne Integration)
  • Toggle the Full Access switch to enable full permissions
  • Click Save to generate the API key
  • Copy the generated API key — it is prefixed with an underscore (_). Store it securely
  • To regenerate an existing key, click Reset key and then Continue (this invalidates the previous key)
  • Click Close to close the form.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Key

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
