Assistant API keys are public tokens safe for frontend use. This authentication is required for Assistant actions (search, page content, AI chat). Calls using this token may incur costs against your assistant credits.

Getting Your Domain

Your domain identifier is required for assistant and search operations.

Sign in to Mintlify Dashboard

Go to Mintlify Dashboard and sign in with your account credentials.

Find Your Domain

Your domain is the project slug from your Mintlify dashboard URL.

  • Copy your dashboard URL (e.g., dashboard.mintlify.com/stackone-60/stackone-hub)
  • The domain is the last segment of the URL (e.g., stackone-hub)
  • Note: Use the project slug even if you have a custom domain mapped (e.g., hub.stackone.com)

Generating Assistant API Key

Create an assistant API key for AI assistant and documentation search features.

Navigate to API Keys

Go to the API Keys page in your dashboard.

Generate Assistant API Key

Click the Generate API Key button and select Assistant API Key.

  • Assistant API keys begin with the mint_dsc_ prefix
  • Copy the key immediately and store it securely for use later
  • Important: The key will not be shown again after you leave this page
  • Assistant API keys are public tokens safe for frontend code

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • Assistant API Key
  • Domain

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
