Generating an API Key

Your API key grants the integration access to your Mailchimp account data and includes your datacenter prefix.

Sign in to Mailchimp

Sign in to your Mailchimp account using your credentials.

2

Navigate to API Keys

From your Mailchimp account page:

  • Navigate to your account settings (Account & billing).
  • Click on Extras in the top navigation menu.
  • Select API keys from the dropdown menu.
3

Create a New API Key

On the API Keys page:

  • In the Your API keys section, click the Create A Key button.
  • In the “Name New API Key” dialog, enter a descriptive name for your API key (e.g., “StackOne Integration”).
  • Click Generate Key to create your API key.
4

Copy the API Key

On the “Copy New API Key” page:

  • Copy the generated API key immediately and store it securely. The key format includes your datacenter suffix (e.g., 9def10feedf2096ca056f27f915c680-us18).
  • The datacenter prefix (the part after the hyphen) will be automatically extracted and used for API requests.
