Generating an API Key
Your API key grants the integration access to your Mailchimp account data and includes your datacenter prefix.
Sign in to Mailchimp
Sign in to your Mailchimp account using your credentials.
Navigate to API Keys
From your Mailchimp account page:
- Navigate to your account settings (Account & billing).
- Click on Extras in the top navigation menu.
- Select API keys from the dropdown menu.
Create a New API Key
On the API Keys page:
- In the Your API keys section, click the Create A Key button.
- In the “Name New API Key” dialog, enter a descriptive name for your API key (e.g., “StackOne Integration”).
- Click Generate Key to create your API key.
Copy the API Key
On the “Copy New API Key” page:
- Copy the generated API key immediately and store it securely. The key format includes your datacenter suffix (e.g.,
9def10feedf2096ca056f27f915c680-us18). - The datacenter prefix (the part after the hyphen) will be automatically extracted and used for API requests.
- Note the warning - you won’t be able to see or copy this key again. If you lose it, you’ll need to generate a new key.
- Click Done when finished.
Linking the Account from the Hub
Navigate to the Hub
Fill out the fields
- API Key
- Webhook Audience ID (Optional)
Connect
- Click Connect
- If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
- Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup
If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
