Generate an API Key

Create a Personal Access Token or Service Account Key in your Keap application settings.

Open API Settings

In your Keap application, go to Settings (gear icon) in the left sidebar, then select API Settings.

Create a new key

Click the blue + Add Key button.

  • Enter a unique name for the key to help identify it later
  • Click Save
  • Copy the key immediately — it is only shown once

Key types

Both key types use the same authentication mechanism.

  • Personal Access Token (PAT): Available to all users. Operates under the creating user’s permissions.
  • Service Account Key (SAK): Available to admins only. Grants full admin-level access.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Key (PAT or SAK)

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
