API tokens grant full access to your Jira account. Keep them secure and never share them publicly. Tokens can be set to expire (maximum 1 year) and can be revoked at any time.

Generate an API token

Create a new API token for authenticating with the Jira REST API.

Navigate to API tokens

Create a new token

Click Create API token.

  • Enter a descriptive Label (e.g., “StackOne Integration”)
  • Set an expiry date (maximum 1 year).
  • Click Create.
  • Copy the token immediately and store securely — it is only shown once.

Find your domain

Your Jira domain identifies your Atlassian instance.

  • Check your browser address bar when signed in to Jira.
  • Format: https://{your-domain}.atlassian.net
  • Example: if your URL is https://acme.atlassian.net, your domain is acme

Find your email

Your email is the address associated with your Atlassian account.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Token
  • Email
  • Domain

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
