Use an Administrator account. A lower-privileged account can only see its own full account details, so unified_list_users and unified_get_user fail with a clear error instead of returning an incomplete list. Role data also needs the Role-based Authorization Strategy plugin.

Find your Jenkins URL

Use the address you open Jenkins at, for example https://jenkins.example.com. Leave off any trailing slash.

Create an API token

Create a token for an Administrator account, so StackOne can read every real user’s account details, not only its own.

Open your security settings

Click your name in the top right corner of any page, then click Security.

Add a new token

Under API Token, click Add new Token, give it a name such as StackOne, and click Generate.

Copy the token

Copy the token now. Jenkins shows it only once.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • Jenkins URL
  • Username
  • API Token

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
