Your API key grants full access to your Exa account and usage credits. Keep it secure, never share it publicly, and rotate it immediately if it is exposed.

Generating an Exa API key

To connect Exa with StackOne, generate an API key from the Exa Dashboard. Any Exa account works — sign-up is free and includes monthly credits.

Sign in to Exa

Sign in to your Exa Dashboard. If you don’t have an account yet, create one for free.

Open the API Keys page

Open the API Keys page from the dashboard.

  • In the left sidebar, click API Keys.

Create an API key

Click Create API Key, give it a recognizable name, and confirm.

Copy the API key

Copy the generated key and store it securely for use later, then paste it into the API Key field.

  • The key is shown only once — copy it before closing the dialog.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Key

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
