Generate an API key

An API key authenticates requests to the Close API on behalf of your user account.

Sign in to Close

Sign in to your Close account.

  • Navigate to Settings > Developer > API Keys.

Create and copy the key

Click + New API Key and enter a descriptive name (e.g., StackOne Integration).

  • Copy the generated API key immediately and store it securely for use later.
  • The key is shown only once — it cannot be displayed again after closing the dialog.
  • Format: api_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (the key contains the ID and a secret part separated by a period)

Linking the Account from the Hub

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • API Key

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
