Prerequisites

The connector should already be set up, with a Connector Profile and a Linked Account. See Getting Started on the Trello connector page.

How webhooks are set up

StackOne creates and manages the webhook subscription automatically when the account is connected, and removes it when the account is disconnected. There is nothing to configure in Trello and no URL to paste.

1

Review what StackOne creates in Trello

On connection, StackOne creates one Trello webhook named StackOne Events on the member who owns the API token. Trello sends that webhook the actions on the member’s boards. Do not delete the webhook while the connection is active.

  • Trello checks the StackOne callback URL with a HEAD request before it creates the webhook. StackOne answers it automatically.
  • The webhook belongs to the API token. Revoking the token in Trello deletes the webhook and stops deliveries.
2

Enable the events you need

Enable the Trello events you want in StackOne. Trello sends every action on the member to the webhook, and StackOne dispatches only the events you have enabled.

Available webhook events

The events below can be enabled for this connection. Each one is a Trello action. The event id is the Trello action id and the Trello action type is in action.type.

Delivery format

Details of how Trello delivers events to StackOne.

1

Review the delivery format

Trello sends one HTTP POST per action, with a JSON body that holds action (id, type, date, the member who acted, and data with the affected card, list, board, or Workspace), model (the watched member), and webhook. For changes, action.data.old holds the previous values. One change in the Trello UI can send more than one action, such as a card move that also changes its position. Enterprise-only and deprecated action types are acknowledged without being dispatched.

Verify

Your Connector should now be able to receive and process events. Try triggering an event and you should see an Event appear in the Connector logs.
