Prerequisites

The connector should already be set up, with a Connector Profile and a Linked Account. See Getting Started on the Squarespace connector page.

Subscribe via the StackOne dashboard

This connector uses Programmatic Webhooks. StackOne creates and manages the webhook subscription automatically when webhook events are enabled for a connected OAuth 2.0 account. No manual steps are needed in Squarespace.

1

Select event subscriptions in the dashboard

In the StackOne dashboard, open the Squarespace connector profile and enable the webhook events you want delivered. See Available webhook events below.

2

Registration on subscribe

StackOne calls POST /1.0/webhook_subscriptions with the connected account’s OAuth token, creating one subscription for the connected site that covers exactly the events you enabled. Changing the selection re-creates the subscription, and disconnecting the account deletes it.

Available webhook events

The following Squarespace events can be enabled.

1

Order events

Events for commerce orders. Requires the website.orders.read scope.

  • Order Created (order.create) — fired when an order is created. Payment Plan orders fire only once fully paid.
  • Order Updated (order.update) — fired when an order is fulfilled, refunded, canceled, marked pending, or has its email changed.
2

Contact events

Events for site contacts (customers, subscribers, and donors). Requires the website.contacts scope.

  • Contact Created (contact.create) — fired when a contact is created.
  • Contact Updated (contact.update) — fired when contact fields, email, marketing preference, or default address change.
  • Contact Deleted (contact.delete) — fired when a contact is removed.
3

Address events

Events for contact address book entries. Requires the website.contacts scope.

  • Address Created (address.create) — fired when an address book entry is added.
  • Address Updated (address.update) — fired when an address book entry is changed.
  • Address Deleted (address.delete) — fired when an address book entry is removed.
4

Extension events

Events about the StackOne OAuth app itself.

  • Extension Uninstalled (extension.uninstall) — fired when the site owner uninstalls the app. The account must be reconnected afterwards.

Delivery format

How Squarespace delivers events to StackOne.

1

One notification per event

Squarespace posts each event as JSON with id, websiteId, subscriptionId, topic, createdOn, and a topic-specific data object. Delivery is at least once and unordered, so the same notification id can arrive more than once.

2

Retries

Squarespace retries failed deliveries for up to 48 hours and may delete a subscription after repeated failures. StackOne answers every notification with 200 OK.

Verify

Your Connector should now be able to receive and process events. Try triggering an event and you should see an Event appear in the Connector logs.
