Prerequisites

The connector should already be set up, with a Connector Profile and a Linked Account. See Getting Started on the Rollbar connector page.

Automatic webhook setup

StackOne creates and manages the webhook subscription automatically when the account is connected. For the configured Project ID it enables the project’s Webhook notification integration and creates one webhook notification rule per enabled event, each pointing at StackOne. Disconnecting the account or disabling an event deletes the matching rule.

  • Enabling the integration sets the project’s default webhook URL to StackOne. Rollbar allows one default URL per project, so any webhook URL previously set there is replaced — existing rules that rely on it stop reaching the old endpoint.
  • Rules are created without filters, so every environment and level is delivered. The High Occurrence Rate rule fires when an item reaches 10 occurrences within 5 minutes. Edit the rules in Rollbar (Project > Settings > Notifications > Webhook) to narrow them or change the threshold.

Available webhook events

Enable any of these events on the connection. Each one maps to a Rollbar webhook notification rule trigger.

  • New Item (new_item) — fired when Rollbar sees a new item (error group) for the first time.
  • Every Occurrence (occurrence) — fired on every occurrence of an item.
  • 10^nth Occurrence (exp_repeat_item) — fired when an item reaches its 10th, 100th, 1,000th (and so on) occurrence.
  • High Occurrence Rate (item_velocity) — fired when an item exceeds an occurrence-rate threshold within a time window (Rollbar rule trigger occurrence_rate, created with a threshold of 10 occurrences within 5 minutes).
  • Item Reactivated (reactivated_item) — fired when a resolved item occurs again and is automatically reactivated.
  • Item Reopened (reopened_item) — fired when a resolved item is manually reopened.
  • Item Resolved (resolved_item) — fired when an item is marked as resolved.
  • Deploy (deploy) — fired when a deploy is recorded for the project.

Delivery format

Rollbar delivers each notification as an HTTP POST with a JSON body {"event_name", "data"}. Item events carry data.item (with project_id, environment, title, level) and data.url; deploy events carry data.deploy. Rollbar does not sign deliveries and retries failed deliveries up to 10 times with exponential backoff.

Verify

Your Connector should now be able to receive and process events. Try triggering an event and you should see an Event appear in the Connector logs.
