The GitLab instance must use HTTPS. If it is behind a firewall, allow inbound HTTPS from StackOne’s IP addresses.

Register an OAuth application on your instance

Create the application on the same GitLab instance you are connecting.

  • Name: StackOne
  • Redirect URI: https://api.stackone.com/connect/oauth2/gitlab/callback
  • Confidential: leave checked
3

Copy the credentials

Click Save application, then copy the Application ID and Secret. The secret is shown only once.

4

Add admin_mode for administrators

If an administrator connects and Admin Mode is turned on, also select admin_mode on the application and in the scopes field. Without it GitLab treats the administrator as a regular user, so the instance user roster and two-factor status stay hidden.

Find your instance URL

Use the address you open GitLab at, such as https://gitlab.example.com, without a trailing slash or /api/v4.

Linking the Account from the Hub

1

Navigate to the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub.
2

Fill out the fields

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • GitLab Instance URL

3

Connect

  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider’s authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
