Prerequisites

The connector should already be set up, with a Connector Profile and a Linked Account. See Getting Started on the Auth0 connector page.

How StackOne sets up Auth0 webhooks

Nothing needs configuring in Auth0. When you connect an Auth0 account with events enabled, StackOne creates an event stream automatically and deletes it again when the connection is removed. A single stream carries every event you enable.

1

Grant the event stream permissions

The application StackOne connects with must be authorized for the Management API permissions that manage event streams. Without them the connection is established but no events are delivered.

  • Open your application in Auth0 and authorize it for the Auth0 Management API.
  • Select create:event_streams, which lets StackOne create the stream on connect.
  • Select delete:event_streams, which lets StackOne remove the stream on disconnect.
2

Check the stream if you need to confirm it

The stream StackOne creates is named StackOne and is subscribed to exactly the events you enabled. Leave it alone — StackOne manages its whole lifecycle and removes it when the connection is deleted.

  • A tenant allows only a limited number of event streams. If the limit is already reached, creating the connection fails and Auth0 reports too_many_entities — delete an unused stream and reconnect.
  • Auth0 delivers each event as a CloudEvents envelope, so the event type and the time it occurred travel with the event itself.

Available webhook events

Auth0 emits twenty-five event types across connections, groups, organizations and users. Only events selected in StackOne are included in the stream — Auth0 sends nothing for events that are not subscribed.

Verify

Your Connector should now be able to receive and process events. Try triggering an event and you should see an Event appear in the Connector logs.
