# Connect Samsara with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Samsara account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Samsara actions.

> You need a Samsara administrator role to create API tokens.

## Create a Samsara API token

Generate an API token in the Samsara dashboard and select the permissions the connector needs.

**1. Open API tokens**

Sign in to the Samsara dashboard and go to **Settings** > **API Tokens**.

**2. Create the token**

Click **Add an API Token**, give it a name, and select the Read or Write permission for each category you want to use (for example Vehicles, Drivers, Addresses, Routes, Users, Tags).

**3. Copy the token**

Copy the token immediately and store it securely. Paste it into the **API Token** field.

## Select your region

Choose the API region that matches the Samsara cloud your organization is hosted in (US, EU or Canada).

## Linking the Account from the Hub

**1. Navigate to the Hub**

Use one of the three [Linking Account Methods](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/managing-connectors/linking-accounts.md) to access the Hub.

**2. Fill out the fields**

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

  <li>**API Token**</li>
  <li>**API Region**</li>
</ul>

**3. Connect**

<ul>
  <li>Click **Connect**</li>
  <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
  <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
</ul>

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account on your [Accounts](https://app.stackone.com/accounts) page.
