# Connect Render with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Render account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Render actions.

<Warning>Access to your Render account is required to generate API keys.</Warning>

  <h2>Generating a Render API Key</h2>

  <p>To connect Render with StackOne, you need to generate an API key from your Render account.</p>

        <p>Sign in to your <a href="https://dashboard.render.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Render Dashboard</a>.</p>

    <Step title="Navigate to Account settings">

        <p>Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select <strong>Account settings</strong> from the dropdown menu.</p>

    <Step title="Open API Keys Section">

        <p>In the Account settings page, navigate to the <strong>API Keys</strong> section.</p>
      </div>

    <Step title="Create a new API Key">

        <p>Click the <strong>Create API Key</strong> button.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Give your API key a unique name (e.g., StackOne Integration)</li>
          <li>Click the <strong>Create API Key</strong> button to generate the key</li>
        </ul>

    <Step title="Copy your API Key">

        <p>Copy the generated API key immediately and store it securely for use later.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>API Key format: `rnd_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx`</li>
          <li>The key will only be displayed once — save it immediately</li>
          <li>Keep your API Key secure as it provides full access to your Render account</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

      <ul>
        <li><strong>API Key</strong></li>
      </ul>

    <Step title="Connect">
      <ul>
        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/guides/accounts-section">Accounts</a> page.</p>
