# Remote OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials connector profile – StackOne setup guide

> Set up a connector profile using OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials for Remote in StackOne to allow users to link their accounts.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Remote issues partner OAuth credentials for you, and must allow your integration to use the Client Credentials flow. You cannot create these credentials yourself.

## Request partner OAuth credentials

StackOne requests a partner token from Remote with your integration's client credentials. No company admin signs in, and the token acts as your integration, not as one company.

**1. Contact Remote's partnerships team**

Ask Remote's partnerships team for partner API access with the Client Credentials flow.

Request credentials for the environment you plan to connect (**Sandbox** or **Production**). Sandbox and production credentials are separate.

Ask Remote to grant the integration the access it needs, such as managing companies.

**2. Copy the client credentials**

Remote sends you a `CLIENT_ID` and a `CLIENT_SECRET`.

Paste the `CLIENT_ID` into the **Client ID** field in the StackOne Connector Profile.

Paste the `CLIENT_SECRET` into the **Client Secret** field in the StackOne Connector Profile.

Store the secret securely and never expose it in client-side code.

## Create the StackOne Connector Profile

**1. Create a Connector Profile**

Enable the connector and create a Connector Profile in your project. See [Setup Connector Profile](https://docs.stackone.com/gateway/quickstart.md#setup-connector-profile).

**2. Link an Account**

Once the Connector Profile is created, continue to [link an account](https://docs.stackone.com/connectors/remote/guides/link-account/oauth-2-0-client-credentials.md).
