# Connect Reddit with OAuth 2.0 (Installed Client) – StackOne Hub

> Link a Reddit account in the StackOne Hub using OAuth 2.0 (Installed Client). End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Reddit actions.

## Choose a Device ID

Reddit identifies a userless installed-app caller by a Device ID instead of an account.

**1. Pick a Device ID**

You choose the **Device ID** yourself — there is nothing to copy from Reddit. Generate it once and keep it the same, because Reddit expects the same Device ID every time the token is renewed.

<ul>
  <li>Format: 20 to 30 ASCII characters, unique to the device or logged-out user</li>
  <li>Example: `DO_NOT_TRACK_THIS_DEVICE`</li>
  <li>Reddit treats `DO_NOT_TRACK_THIS_DEVICE` as an explicit request not to be tracked. Use it unless you need per-device identification.</li>
</ul>

## Set a User Agent

Reddit requires a descriptive User-Agent header on every API call, and throttles requests that send a generic or duplicated one.

**1. Enter a User Agent**

You write the **User Agent** value yourself — there is nothing to copy from Reddit. Use the Reddit username that owns the app so Reddit can identify the traffic.

<ul>
  <li>Format: `platform:appid:version (by /u/username)`</li>
  <li>Example: `stackone-reddit-connector/1.0 (by /u/your_reddit_username)`</li>
</ul>

## Link the Account

**1. Connect**

<ul>
  <li>Click **Connect**.</li>
  <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
  <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup.</li>
</ul>

**2. Use Actions**

Connect an AI platform to the linked account's actions. See [AI Platforms](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/ai-platforms/overview.md).

Other ways to call actions are listed in [Protocols & SDKs](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/protocols-and-sdks.md).
