# Reddit OAuth 2.0 (Installed Client) connector profile – StackOne setup guide

> Set up a connector profile using OAuth 2.0 (Installed Client) for Reddit in StackOne to allow users to link their accounts.

## Prerequisites

You need a Reddit account that can create apps.

<ul>
  <li>A Reddit account with no app-creation restrictions.</li>
  <li>An installed app registration. A web app or script app is issued a secret and should use Application Only OAuth instead.</li>
</ul>

## Create OAuth application

Register an installed app in Reddit's app preferences.

**1. Open the apps page**

Sign in to [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com), click your profile icon, then click **Settings**.

  <li>On the **Account** tab, under **Apps**, click **OAuth app settings**.</li>
  <li>Scroll to the bottom of the page.</li>
  <li>Click **are you a developer? create an app...** to open the form.</li>
</ul>

**2. Fill out app details**

Provide the app metadata.

<ul>
  <li>**app name**: `StackOne Installed App`</li>
  <li>Select the **installed app** radio button.</li>
  <li>**redirect uri**: `http://localhost`</li>
  <li>Click **create app**.</li>
</ul>

**3. Copy the Client ID**

After creation the new app card shows the credential you need. This method never sends a user through the redirect URI, so its value does not matter, and an application-only token carries no user permissions, so there is no permission screen to configure.

  <li>Copy the string under the app name (just below "installed app") into your Connector Profile as the **Client ID**.</li>
  <li>An installed app is issued no secret, so there is nothing else to copy from this page.</li>
</ul>

## Create the StackOne Connector Profile

**1. Create a Connector Profile**

Enable the connector and create a Connector Profile in your project. See [Setup Connector Profile](https://docs.stackone.com/gateway/quickstart.md#setup-connector-profile).
