# Connect Pylon with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Pylon account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Pylon actions.

<Warning>Only Admin users can create API tokens. If you don't have Admin privileges, ask an admin on your team to generate a token for you.</Warning>

  <h2>Generating an API Token</h2>

  <p>To connect Pylon with StackOne, you'll need to generate an API token from your Pylon workspace settings.</p>

    <Step title="Access API Tokens Settings">

        <p>Sign in to your <a href="https://app.usepylon.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pylon workspace</a>.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Navigate to <strong>Settings</strong> in the sidebar</li>
          <li>Select <strong>API Tokens</strong> from the settings menu</li>
          <li>Or directly access [https://app.usepylon.com/settings/api-tokens](https://app.usepylon.com/settings/api-tokens)</li>
        </ul>

    <Step title="Create New API Token">

        <p>Click the <strong>Create</strong> button to generate a new API token.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Enter a descriptive name for your token (e.g., "StackOne Integration")</li>
          <li>Choose an icon to help identify this token (optional)</li>
        </ul>

    <Step title="Copy and Secure the Token">

        <p>Once created, copy your API token immediately and store it securely for use later.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Copy the token that starts with `pylon_`</li>
          <li>Treat this token like a password - never share it publicly</li>
        </ul>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

      <ul>
        <li><strong>API Token</strong></li>
      </ul>

    <Step title="Connect">
      <ul>
        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/guides/accounts-section">Accounts</a> page.</p>
