End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using MeisterTask actions. A free MindMeister Basic account is required to generate a personal access token. MeisterTask shares its developer portal with MindMeister.

Generate a personal access token

Personal access tokens are minted on the shared MindMeister developer dashboard. The selected scopes are baked into the token; to change them later you must revoke and recreate the token.

Sign in to your MindMeister account.

  • Open [https://www.mindmeister.com/api](https://www.mindmeister.com/api) in the same browser session.
  • Click Add personal access token.

Give the token a descriptive name and tick the scopes the integration needs. The MeisterTask UI lists additional Doorkeeper-default and MindMeister scopes that this connector does not use — leave those unchecked.

Generate the token and copy it immediately.

  • Click Create.
  • Copy the token value — it is shown only once. Personal access tokens never expire unless revoked.
  • Store the token securely for use later.

Available scopes

Pick the scopes that match the data the integration needs.

  • `meistertask` — read and write access to MeisterTask projects, sections, tasks, comments, attachments, labels, and persons.
  • `meistertask.readonly` — use instead of `meistertask` for a read-only integration.
  • `userinfo.profile` — read the authenticated user's profile (name, avatar, language, time zone).
  • `userinfo.email` — read the authenticated user's email address.

Linking the Account from the Hub

Use one of the three Linking Account Methods to access the Hub. Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:
  • Personal Access Token
  • Click Connect
  • If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.
  • Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your Accounts page.
