# Manufact OAuth 2.0 connector profile – StackOne setup guide

> Set up a connector profile using OAuth 2.0 for Manufact in StackOne to allow users to link their accounts.

## Registering an OAuth client

Manufact has no page for creating OAuth apps. You register a client by sending one request to Manufact's client registration endpoint, and it returns the client ID. No Manufact sign-in or API key is needed for this request.

**1. Register the client**

Run this request, replacing `<CALLBACK_URL>` with the **Callback URL** from your Connector Profile:

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://cloud.manufact.com/api/auth/oauth2/register \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "client_name": "StackOne",
    "redirect_uris": ["<CALLBACK_URL>"],
    "grant_types": ["authorization_code", "refresh_token"],
    "response_types": ["code"],
    "token_endpoint_auth_method": "none",
    "scope": "openid offline_access"
  }'
```

<ul>
  <li>A successful request returns HTTP `201` with the new client's details in JSON.</li>
  <li>The client is a public client that uses PKCE, so Manufact issues no client secret.</li>
  <li>To connect from more than one StackOne environment, add each environment's **Callback URL** to `redirect_uris`.</li>
</ul>

**2. Copy the client ID**

Copy the `client_id` from the response into your Connector Profile.

<ul>
  <li>Manufact has no page that lists registered clients, so save the response somewhere safe.</li>
  <li>Registered clients cannot be edited or deleted. To change the redirect URLs, register a new client and use its `client_id`.</li>
</ul>

## Access and roles

The connection acts as the Manufact Cloud user who signs in, with that user's role in the organization. Roles are assigned on the **Members** tab of the **Team** page.

<ul>
  <li>**Member**: manages servers, deployments, agents, server pools and domains</li>
  <li>**Admin** or **Owner**: also manages billing</li>
  <li>The built-in roles are available on every plan. Custom roles are an Enterprise feature and are not needed for this connection.</li>
</ul>

## Create the StackOne Connector Profile

**1. Create a Connector Profile**

Enable the connector and create a Connector Profile in your project. See [Setup Connector Profile](https://docs.stackone.com/gateway/quickstart.md#setup-connector-profile).

**2. Link an Account**

Once the Connector Profile is created, continue to [link an account](https://docs.stackone.com/connectors/manufact/guides/link-account/oauth-2-0.md).
