# Connect Lever with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Lever account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Lever actions.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Only a Lever Super Admin can open the API Credentials tab. Generate the key in the same environment you select in StackOne — a sandbox key is rejected by the production API, and the reverse.

## Generate a Lever API key

Lever issues API keys from the same Integrations and API page that holds the OAuth settings. The key is shown once, carries the permissions you select while creating it, and authenticates every request on its own — there is no token exchange or expiry.

**1. Sign in to Lever as a Super Admin**

Sign in to [Lever](https://hire.lever.co) for production, or to [the sandbox](https://hire.sandbox.lever.co) for development. Every other role sees the API Credentials tab as empty.

**2. Open Integrations and API**

Click your profile picture in the top right corner, select **Settings**, then click **Integrations and API** in the left menu.

**3. Select the API Credentials tab**

Select the **API Credentials** tab. Work in the **Lever API credentials** section — the **Postings API credentials** section below it issues a different key that this connector cannot use.

**4. Generate a new key**

Click **Generate New Key**, then type a name that identifies this integration, such as `StackOne`.

**5. Select the permissions the key needs**

Under **Permissions**, tick the endpoints this integration should reach. Use **Select all read** to enable every read endpoint, and add the write endpoints you need on top of it.

Permissions are per endpoint, so an action whose endpoint is unticked returns 403 even though the key itself is valid.

Turn on **Allow access to confidential data** to read confidential opportunities, postings and requisitions.

**6. Copy the key into StackOne**

Click **Copy Key**, then **Done**, and paste the value into the **API Key** field in StackOne Hub.

The key is displayed only while this dialog is open and cannot be retrieved afterwards — store it securely.

To change which endpoints a key may reach, edit its permissions from the **Lever API credentials** list; to retire it, revoke it there.

## Link the Account

**1. Connect**

Click **Connect**.

If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.

Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup.

**2. Use Actions**

Connect an AI platform to the linked account's actions. See [AI Platforms](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/ai-platforms/overview.md).

Other ways to call actions are listed in [Protocols & SDKs](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/protocols-and-sdks.md).
