# Connect KnowBe4 with User Event API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a KnowBe4 account in the StackOne Hub using User Event API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using KnowBe4 actions.

> [!WARNING]
>
> KnowBe4 requires a Platinum, Diamond or SAT Advanced subscription for the User Event API Management Console, where keys are created. The User Event API allows 10 calls per licensed user a day. A User Event API key works only with the user event actions.

## Find your region

Your region is the KnowBe4 data center that hosts your account. StackOne uses it to pick the User Event API address for your account.

<ul>
  <li>Look at the address in your browser while you are signed in to the KnowBe4 console.</li>
  <li>Format: `{subdomain}.knowbe4.com`</li>
  <li>Example: `eu.knowbe4.com`</li>
  <li>`training.knowbe4.com` is **US (training.knowbe4.com)**</li>
  <li>`eu.knowbe4.com` is **EU (eu.knowbe4.com)**</li>
  <li>`ca.knowbe4.com` is **Canada (ca.knowbe4.com)**</li>
  <li>`uk.knowbe4.com` is **UK (uk.knowbe4.com)**</li>
  <li>`de.knowbe4.com` is **Germany (de.knowbe4.com)**</li>
  <li>Select the matching option in the **Region** field in StackOne Hub.</li>
</ul>

## Create a User Event API key

A User Event API key lets StackOne push security events into your users' KnowBe4 timelines and read them back. It is separate from the Product API token and the Reporting API token.

**1. Sign in to KnowBe4**

Sign in to your [KnowBe4 console](https://training.knowbe4.com/ui/dashboard/) as an admin, at the address for your region.

<ul>
  <li>Outside the US, use your region's address instead, for example `https://eu.knowbe4.com`.</li>
  <li>Click your email address at the top right of the page and select **Account Settings**.</li>
  <li>Navigate to **Account Integrations** > **API**.</li>
</ul>

**2. Open the User Event API Management Console**

In the **User Event API** section, open the **User Event API Management Console**, then open its **API Key** tab.

**3. Create and copy the key**

Enter a name such as `StackOne Integration` and click **Create API Key**. KnowBe4 shows the key in a pop-up.

<ul>
  <li>KnowBe4 shows the key once. Later you can see only its last 10 digits, so a lost key needs a new one.</li>
  <li>Copy the **User Event API Key** across.</li>
</ul>

## Replace or revoke the key

Manage the key on the **API Key** tab of the User Event API Management Console.

<ul>
  <li>To revoke it, click the trash can icon next to the key. The connection stops working.</li>
  <li>KnowBe4 keys expire after five years at most. Create a new one before then and copy the new **User Event API Key** across.</li>
</ul>

## Link the Account

**1. Connect**

<ul>
  <li>Click **Connect**.</li>
  <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
  <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup.</li>
</ul>

**2. Use Actions**

Connect an AI platform to the linked account's actions. See [AI Platforms](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/ai-platforms/overview.md).

Other ways to call actions are listed in [Protocols & SDKs](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/protocols-and-sdks.md).
