# Connect Jira Service Management with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Jira Service Management account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Jira Service Management actions.

<Warning>API tokens grant full access to your Jira account. Keep them secure and never share them publicly. Tokens can be set to expire (maximum 1 year) and can be revoked at any time.</Warning>

  <h2>Generate an API token</h2>

  <p>Create a new API token for authenticating with the Jira REST API.</p>

        <p>Go to your <a href="https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Atlassian API token settings</a>.</p>

        <p>Click <strong>Create API token</strong>.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Enter a descriptive <strong>Label</strong> (e.g., "StackOne JSM Integration")</li>
          <li>Set an expiry date (maximum 1 year).</li>
          <li>Click <strong>Create</strong>.</li>
          <li>Copy the token immediately and store securely — it is only shown once.</li>

  <h2>Find your domain</h2>

  <p>Your Jira domain identifies your Atlassian instance.</p>

  <ul>
    <li>Check your browser address bar when signed in to Jira Service Management.</li>
    <li>Format: `https://{your-domain}.atlassian.net`</li>
    <li>Example: if your URL is `https://acme.atlassian.net`, your domain is `acme`</li>

  <h2>Find your email</h2>

  <p>Your email is the address associated with your Atlassian account.</p>

  <ul>
    <li>Check your <a href="https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/email" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Atlassian profile settings</a>.</li>
    <li>This is the email address you use to sign in to Jira.</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

      <ul>
        <li><strong>API Token</strong></li>
        <li><strong>Email</strong></li>
        <li><strong>Domain</strong></li>
      </ul>

        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/guides/accounts-section">Accounts</a> page.</p>
