# Connect IONOS with Basic Auth – StackOne Hub

> Link a IONOS account in the StackOne Hub using Basic Auth. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using IONOS actions.

> [!WARNING]
>
> IONOS rejects Basic authentication for users with 2-factor authentication turned on. Only contract administrators and owners can manage users, so sign in as one of them.

## Using your IONOS Cloud login

Basic authentication sends the email and password of an IONOS Cloud user with every request.

**1. Choose the user**

Use the **Email Address** and **Password** you sign in to the [IONOS Data Center Designer](https://dcd.ionos.com) with.

<ul>
  <li>The user must not have 2-factor authentication turned on.</li>
  <li>Use a contract owner or administrator to manage users and groups.</li>
</ul>

**2. Enter the credentials**

Paste the email into the **Email Address** field and the password into the **Password** field in StackOne Hub.

## Find your contract number

The **Contract Number** field is optional. Leave it empty to use the user's default contract.

**1. Open the account menu**

Select **Menu**, then click your initials in the top navigation bar. The drop-down shows your contract number.

<ul>
  <li>Paste it into the **Contract Number** field in StackOne Hub.</li>
  <li>Example: `31000000`</li>
</ul>

## Link the Account

**1. Connect**

<ul>
  <li>Click **Connect**.</li>
  <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
  <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup.</li>
</ul>

**2. Use Actions**

Connect an AI platform to the linked account's actions. See [AI Platforms](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/ai-platforms/overview.md).

Other ways to call actions are listed in [Protocols & SDKs](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/protocols-and-sdks.md).
