# Connect Granola with Personal API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Granola account in the StackOne Hub using Personal API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Granola actions.

  <h2>Generate a personal API key</h2>

  <p>Granola authenticates with a personal API key sent as a bearer token. When you create the key you choose its note access scopes: <strong>Personal notes</strong> (notes you own, notes shared directly with you, and notes in private folders shared with you) and <strong>Public notes</strong> (notes visible to everyone in the workspace, such as the Team space).</p>

        <p>Open the Granola desktop app and go to your API settings.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Open the <a href="https://granola.ai" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Granola</a> desktop app and sign in.</li>
          <li>Go to <strong>Settings</strong> > <strong>Connectors</strong> > <strong>API keys</strong>.</li>
          <li>On Enterprise plans, a workspace admin may first need to allow the scopes you want in <strong>Settings</strong> > <strong>Workspace</strong> > <strong>General</strong> > <strong>API access for members</strong>.</li>

        <p>Generate a new personal key and copy it.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Click <strong>Create new key</strong>.</li>
          <li>Select the note access scopes the key should include (<strong>Personal notes</strong>, <strong>Public notes</strong>, or both).</li>
          <li>Click <strong>Generate API Key</strong>.</li>
          <li>Copy the key (it starts with `grn_`) and store it securely for use later.</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/connect/managing-connectors/linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

        <li><strong>API Key</strong></li>
      </ul>

        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/gateway/concepts/linked-accounts">Accounts</a> page.</p>
