# Connect FastSpring with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a FastSpring account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using FastSpring actions.

<Warning>You need access to your FastSpring Dashboard with permissions to access Developer Tools. The API password is only shown once during creation and cannot be retrieved later.</Warning>

  <h2>Generate API Credentials</h2>

  <p>FastSpring uses HTTP Basic Authentication with a username and password generated from the FastSpring Dashboard.</p>

        <p>Sign in to your <a href="https://app.fastspring.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">FastSpring Dashboard</a>.</p>

    <Step title="Navigate to API Credentials">

        <p>Navigate to <strong>Developer Tools</strong> > <strong>APIs</strong> > <strong>API Credentials</strong>.</p>

    <Step title="Create new credentials">

        <p>Click <strong>Create</strong> to automatically generate a new API username and password.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Copy the <strong>Username</strong> and <strong>Password</strong> immediately</li>
          <li>FastSpring only displays your password during the initial creation session</li>
          <li>Store both credentials securely as the password cannot be retrieved later</li>
          <li>If you lose your password, you must reset your credentials and update all dependent integrations</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

  <Steps>
    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

      <ul>
        <li><strong>API Username</strong></li>
        <li><strong>API Password</strong></li>
      </ul>

    <Step title="Connect">
      <ul>
        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/guides/accounts-section">Accounts</a> page.</p>
