# Connect Cursor with Admin API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Cursor account in the StackOne Hub using Admin API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Cursor actions.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Only a team Admin or Unpaid Admin can create an Admin API key. Cursor says its API endpoints are available on Team and Enterprise plans, and that audit logs and removing a team member are Enterprise only.

## Create an Admin API key

An Admin API key gives StackOne access to one Cursor team. Create it in the team you want to review.

**1. Sign in to Cursor**

Sign in to your [Cursor account](https://cursor.com/dashboard) as a team Admin or Unpaid Admin.

<ul>
  <li>Open the [API Keys page](https://cursor.com/dashboard/api) of the dashboard.</li>
</ul>

**2. Create the key**

Select **New API Key** and give the key a descriptive name.

<ul>
  <li>Name: `StackOne Integration`</li>
  <li>Create a team API key. A personal user API key or an Organization API key cannot call the team routes this connector uses.</li>
  <li>Choose the **Read-only** scope (`read:*`). It is enough to read team members and their roles, directory groups, audit logs and daily usage.</li>
  <li>Choose the admin scope (`admin:*`) only if you will also create, update or delete directory groups, add or remove their members, or remove team members. Cursor answers a write made with a `read:*` key with a 401.</li>
  <li>Directory groups synced from your identity provider through SCIM reject manual member changes, so manage those in the identity provider.</li>
  <li>If Cursor asks for an expiration date, the connection stops on that date until you paste a new key.</li>
</ul>

**3. Copy the key**

Copy the generated key right away and store it securely for use later.

<ul>
  <li>Cursor shows the key once and says you won't see it again.</li>
  <li>Format: `crsr_` followed by a long string of letters and digits</li>
  <li>Example: `crsr_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx`</li>
  <li>Paste it into the **Admin API Key** field in StackOne Hub.</li>
</ul>

## Keep the key working

Cursor says keys are unaffected by the account status of the admin who created them.

<ul>
  <li>To rotate the key, create a new one on the **API Keys** page, paste it into StackOne Hub, then revoke the old key. A key Cursor no longer accepts is answered with a 401, and the connection stops until you paste a new one.</li>
  <li>To stop StackOne's access, revoke the key on the same **API Keys** page.</li>
</ul>

## Linking the Account from the Hub

**1. Navigate to the Hub**

Use one of the three [Linking Account Methods](https://docs.stackone.com/connect/managing-connectors/linking-accounts.md) to access the Hub.

**2. Fill out the fields**

Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

<ul>
  <li>**Admin API Key**</li>
</ul>

**3. Connect**

<ul>
  <li>Click **Connect**</li>
  <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
  <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
</ul>

If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account on your [Accounts](https://app.stackone.com/accounts) page.
