# Connect CircleCI with Personal API Token – StackOne Hub

> Link a CircleCI account in the StackOne Hub using Personal API Token. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using CircleCI actions.

<Warning>A CircleCI account is required to generate a Personal API Token.</Warning>

  <h2>Generate a Personal API Token</h2>

  <p>To connect CircleCI with StackOne, you'll need to generate a Personal API Token from the CircleCI web application.</p>

    <Step title="Sign in to CircleCI">

        <p>Sign in to your <a href="https://app.circleci.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CircleCI account</a>.</p>

    <Step title="Navigate to Personal API Tokens">

        <p>Access your Personal API Token settings.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner.</li>
          <li>Select <strong>User Settings</strong>.</li>
          <li>In the left sidebar, click <strong>Personal API Tokens</strong>.</li>

        <p>Generate a new Personal API Token.</p>

          <li>Click <strong>Create New Token</strong>.</li>
          <li>Enter a descriptive name for the token (e.g., `StackOne Integration`).</li>
          <li>Click <strong>Add API Token</strong>.</li>
          <li>Copy the token immediately — it will only be shown once.</li>
          <li>Store it securely for use later.</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

        <li><strong>Personal API Token</strong></li>
      </ul>

        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/guides/accounts-section">Accounts</a> page.</p>
