# Checkr API Key connector profile – StackOne setup guide

> Set up the API Key connector profile for Checkr in StackOne. One-time admin setup required before your users can link Checkr accounts via Hub.

  <p>Checkr provides separate environments and API keys for production and staging. Choose the appropriate environment based on your use case.</p>

        <p>When connecting Checkr to StackOne, you'll be asked to select an environment.</p>

        <ul>
          <li><strong>Production</strong> — Use for real background checks with actual candidate data. Requires account approval from Checkr.</li>
          <li><strong>Staging</strong> — Use for development and testing with fake data. Free to use, no approval required.</li>
          <li>Staging environment uses a separate base URL (api.checkr-staging.com)</li>
          <li>You can switch environments later by creating a new connection</li>

## Creating the StackOne Connector Profile

To create the Connector Profile in StackOne for <strong>Checkr</strong>:

    Login to StackOne and navigate to [Connector Profiles](https://app.stackone.com/connector_profiles)

  <Step title="Create New Connector Profile">
    <ul>
      <li>Click <strong>+ Connector Profile</strong></li>
      <li>Search for and select <strong>Checkr</strong></li>
      <li>Select <strong>Type</strong> as <strong>API Key</strong></li>
      <li>(Optional) Select <strong>Actions</strong> to be enabled for this Connector Profile</li>
      <li>Click <strong>Create profile</strong></li>
    </ul>

Congratulations! The new Connector Profile will now show up in your project ready to be used. You can now continue to <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Link Accounts</a> for <strong>Checkr</strong>.
