# Connect Campfire with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a Campfire account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Campfire actions.

<Warning>Requires an Admin role in Campfire to generate API keys with full read and write access.</Warning>

  <h2>Generate an API key</h2>

  <p>An API key authenticates requests to the Campfire API. The key inherits the permissions of the user role that created it.</p>

    <Step title="Sign in to Campfire">

        <p>Sign in to your <a href="https://app.meetcampfire.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Campfire account</a>.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Navigate to <strong>Settings</strong> > <strong>API Keys</strong>.</li>
        </ul>

        <p>Click <strong>Create API Key</strong> and provide a descriptive name (e.g., `StackOne Integration`).</p>

          <li>Copy the API key immediately and store it securely for use later.</li>
          <li>This key is shown only once — it cannot be retrieved after the dialog is closed.</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/guides/accounts-section#linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

        <li><strong>API Key</strong></li>
      </ul>

        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/guides/accounts-section">Accounts</a> page.</p>
