# Connect Asana with Service Account Token – StackOne Hub

> Link a Asana account in the StackOne Hub using Service Account Token. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using Asana actions.

<Warning>Service Account tokens grant organization-wide access to your Asana data, including private projects. Only super admins can create them. Keep the token secure and never share it publicly.</Warning>

  <h2>Prerequisites</h2>

  <p>Verify you have the necessary plan and permissions before starting setup.</p>

  <ul>
    <li>An Asana organization on the Enterprise or Enterprise+ plan (audit log events and organization exports require Enterprise+, Legacy Enterprise, or the Compliance Management add-on)</li>
    <li>Super admin access to the Asana Admin Console</li>

  <h2>Create a Service Account</h2>

  <p>Create a Service Account in the Admin Console and copy its token.</p>

    <Step title="Open the Admin Console">

        <p>Sign in to <a href="https://app.asana.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Asana</a> as a super admin and open the <a href="https://app.asana.com/admin" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Admin Console</a>.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Navigate to the <strong>Apps</strong> tab.</li>
          <li>Select <strong>Service accounts</strong>.</li>
        </ul>
      </div>
    </Step>

    <Step title="Add the Service Account">

        <p>Click <strong>Add service account</strong> to create a new Service Account.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Enter a name (e.g., `StackOne Integration`).</li>
          <li>Choose <strong>Full permissions</strong> to use every action in this connector, or choose scoped permissions and enable <strong>Audit logs</strong> and <strong>Exporting</strong> if you only need audit log events and organization exports.</li>
          <li>Save the Service Account.</li>
        </ul>

    <Step title="Copy the token">

        <p>Copy the Service Account token immediately and store it securely for use later — it is displayed only once.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>If the token is lost, regenerate it from <strong>Apps</strong> > <strong>Service accounts</strong> in the Admin Console.</li>
          <li>A newly created token can take a few minutes to become active.</li>
        </ul>

  <h2>Find your Workspace ID</h2>

  <p>Your Workspace ID identifies which Asana organization to connect.</p>

  <ul>
    <li>Check your browser address bar when signed in to Asana.</li>
    <li>Format: `https://app.asana.com/0/{workspace_id}/...`</li>
    <li>Example: if your URL is `https://app.asana.com/0/1201234567890123/home`, your Workspace ID is `1201234567890123`</li>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

  <Steps>
    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/connect/managing-connectors/linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.
    </Step>

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

      <ul>
        <li><strong>Service Account Token</strong></li>
        <li><strong>Workspace ID</strong></li>
        <li><strong>Project IDs</strong> (Optional)</li>
      </ul>
    </Step>

    <Step title="Connect">
      <ul>
        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>
    </Step>
  </Steps>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/gateway/concepts/linked-accounts">Accounts</a> page.</p>
